Don't know what this whole area is for
Watch this space, because it will soon have lots of amazing stuff. For example Bold type like this. Different colored words! Amazing things are in store for this box of text. Do not doubt this. Okay I lied. Nothing happening here.
Dude! I know! I used to watch this show on Saturday mornings with my big bowl of sugar cereal.
ReplyDelete:-) Me too.
ReplyDeleteI watched it, but without the cereal. And went as #3 for Halloween :)
ReplyDeleteI'm totally intrigued by the fact that immediate recognition comes with so little information. 1 pixel wide? Very cool. But I can't seem to get the three purple/yellow guys. Don't tell me, but could you throw a hint my way? I'm sure it's a generational thing. I was happy the kids were busy watching cartoons so I could get stuff done. (Mommy = fail)
ReplyDeleteWell all I'll say is the three purple "guys" were part of this group in their late 70's incarnation watched by the cereal-eating/costume wearing kids. Also Ted Knight was involved.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, 1 pixel wide. I did a more complete version that I'll post soon, but I simplified and was surprised how well they read. It's mostly an issue of context.
Looked up an image, and I still don't know who they are. Confirmed: I'm old. But the pixels are dead on, now that I see what they look like fleshed out.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see that Gleek got props here.
ReplyDeleteMad props to my supermonkey Gleek.
ReplyDeleteHey Sam, nice "Superfriends" pixels...
ReplyDeleteI heard that they've started work on "Joe Jump" again...
Are you still working on it?
Love your blog, btw.
Thanks re: the blog, HH. I will post more stuff shortly. I've been so busy lately...
ReplyDeleteI decided to leave Disney a year ago. I am not involved with whatever they are doing to my old project and honestly try not to think about it.
Instead I'm focused on creating new shows and characters and grateful for environments that support creative vision.
fantastic ! the power of color combination...
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing (as everyone has already pointed out) how recognizable those characters are with so little information - that's a tribute to strong, iconic character design (you still reading this link, Marilyn? It's the wondertwins, Zan and Jana, and Gleek the blue alien monkey). Man, I loved that show - the percusive horn section in my memory still gives me chills, just thinking about it!)
